What We Believe –
We believe in a horse sense approach to everything we do -- especially when it comes to the environment.
The word “environment” today conjures up all sorts of negative “you must be a nutcase” responses. The everyday person on the street seems led to believe a person concerned about protecting the environment must be for every nutty, extreme, lifestyle limiting regulation that can be imposed on a person or company, while the people promoting extreme environmental regulations are led to believe one can’t care about the earth if they don’t want all those restrictions.
We believe that God made the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them.
We believe that God put man on earth to have dominion over the earth.
We believe that man’s God-given responsibility to exercise dominion over the earth means that we protect it and its living creatures to the best of our ability from pollution, detrimental land practices, or anything that destroys the potential of the earth to be there to provide for our future generations.
We do not believe that means the earth has dominion over man. It does not.
We do not believe in imposing unrealistic restrictions and requirements on its people.
It is sad that some elected to represent the public seek to use their positions to control every aspect of our lives and state they are doing it for the sake of the environment. Their extreme control of the environment and our lives has turned the words “environment” and “green” into “dirty words” because people are encouraged to believe that persons who don’t support extreme measures to “protect” the environment don’t really care about the environment. They are not even allowed to contradict the outrageous claims made by extreme environmentalists.
Let’s consider a few problems we in the United States are soon to encounter.
What about compact fluorescent light bulbs? They use less energy. Do they? Will the energy savings offset the energy required to clean up mercury released into landfills due to improperly discarded compact fluorescent bulbs?
The average person doesn’t take the time to learn the positions, backgrounds, and beliefs of persons they elect to various offices. Do you think they will properly discard these compact light bulbs?
No. They will toss them in the trash, when there is no other light choice offered to buy. They will not think twice about it! Get ready for more mercury poisoning.
Here’s a “light bulb” thought -- If a person leaves a shopping cart in a parking place located right next to a cart return instead of placing it in the return, do you really think they will make the extra effort to properly dispose of fluorescent bulbs?
To paraphrase songster Paul Simon,
“Mama, don’t take my incandescent away.”
And while we’re at it, where the heck is the horse sense in buying and selling carbon offsets? The carbon dioxide is not being reduced. It’s just providing another means for the producer to be charged a fee. As long as he pays the fee, he can produce all the carbon dioxide he wants.
Carbon offsets are a silly, nonsense, unscientific environmental cash cow. The person collecting money for the carbon offset is not protecting the environment. They are padding their pocket.
Please remember your elementary school science class. Humans and animals breathe in O₂ (oxygen) and breathe out CO₂ (carbon dioxide). Plants breathe in CO₂ and give off O₂. It’s a great plan. It’s God’s plan. And it’s been working like that ever since God came up with it.
So, carbon dioxide does not need to be “offset.” Heck, we humans need it to breathe!
See what we mean about “extreme environmentalism?”
Yea. We believe in protecting and preserving our earth.
And, yea. We believe God Put us here to do it.
We just believe in doing it with horse sense --
the way God wants us to do it.
“Horse Sense is that sense
Which all other sense without that sense
Is nonsense.”
